You will look at real-world issues in the light of our tradition and consider the best ways of exploring Christian faith and life with others.

You will look at real-world issues in the light of our tradition and consider the best ways of exploring Christian faith and life with others. You will take 4 modules over 2 years:
● The Word of God
● The Synodal Church
● Dimensions of Christian Life
● The Church’s Mission in the World
You will follow the course online. You will do most of the work at a time to suit yourself - with occasional synchronous sessions.
There are two ways you can take this course. All students will review the material presented online and do some assessed work to complete the course (total cost £1900). The Liverpool Hope University Catholic Pastoral Leadership Course, in association with the catholic diocese of England and Wales, was a great success. The course materials are now available for download.
It is a two-year online professional development programme.
It is offered by Liverpool Hope University in partnership with the Archdiocese of Liverpool and in collaboration with Catholic dioceses and formation teams in England and Wales.
The course aims to provide participants with up-to-date knowledge, skills and formation for contemporary pastoral ministry.
You will take 4 modules over 2 years:
● The Word of God
● The Synodal Church
● Dimensions of Christian Life
● The Church’s Mission in the World
Modules are delivered online.
Participants have the freedom to study in their own homes - with occasional synchronous sessions.
Each module requires approximately 20 hours of online engagement, reading and reflection.
The course models adult learning and shared praxis, and is rooted in theological texts and the pastoral experience of participants.
There are two ways you can take this course. All students will review the material presented online and do some assessed work to complete the course (total cost £1900). Or you can take this course as a postgraduate certificate (60 credits) at extra cost and with additional work (total cost £2400).
The course is completed through continuous participation via forum posts and engaged responses.
Each diocese provides a local contact person for administration and pastoral support.

You will have decided on an aspect of pastoral ministry and leadership that you wish to focus on. You will design, implement and evaluate a significant piece of work within your chosen pastoral context and will receive pastoral accompaniment during it.
