Animate help over 10,000 young people in our archdiocese to deepen their Catholic faith and to encounter Jesus in His Church.
We are a resident team of young people ministering to other young people through retreats, missions, pilgrimages, events and formation. Our team is made up of young people aged 18-25 who live in community at Lowe House, St Helens.
The team consists of our Director, Fr. Simon Gore, our paid Leadership team and our gap-year Volunteers.

Called is our official confirmation programme, which is structured into four separate stages. It gives year 8’s an integrated experience of preparing for confirmation in school before connecting with their parish community to receive the sacrament.
The Faith in Action Award rewards young people's active service to others in their local and wider community. Young people accrue credits of service and reflect on that service in the context of the teachings of the Catholic Church throughout their award journey.

Each year, around 500 young people make the annual trip to Lourdes with the Archdiocese Youth Pilgrimage. The pilgrimage has been running for over 35 years and coaches from across the Archdiocese take part.
While in Lourdes, the youth take part in an array of things. We pray together, work together, eat together, sing together, laugh together and come away with some of the best friendships and memories that we will treasure for life.
