The Archdiocese of Liverpool will be opening the doors to its parish centres under a new scheme called ‘Snack Away or Snack and Stay’ to provide somewhere for children of any age to enjoy a free meal.

Each of the centres will be open on different days of the week for children to come in and enjoy a free meal of a sandwich, fruit, crisps, and a drink with their parents, who can enjoy free tea and coffee.

Visitors can also have access to TV and wi-fi and most important of all, some friendly company.

Director of Finance for the archdiocese, Jill Boggan, has been instrumental in setting up the scheme alongside senior accountant John McMahon and operations manager Brian Lowry.

John said: “Following the success of our warm and cosy scheme at our parish centres, we wanted to extend our community engagement and provide free food and drinks for children and their parents.

“We hope that as many people as possible benefit from this, all are very welcome.”
