September 6, 2023

From 1 September to 4 October, we will be celebrating Seasons of Creation throughout the archdiocese.

We will be posting daily reflections across our social media accounts during this period, so keep an eye out for them.

Season of Creation is when the Christian family unites for a worldwide celebration of prayer and action to protect our common home.

Working with the Diocese of Brentwood, the Archdiocese of Liverpool has prepared a resource with prayers and activities for each day of the season.

We welcome you to use these in your parish, school, or organisation.

The archdiocese’s Catholic social action coordinator Pablo Guidi said: “It’s really important that we use this time to reflect on what needs to be done to care fo rour creation.

“We’re asking people to use this period to reflect on the world we all live in, andwhat choices we can make to protect it.”

Speaking as part of the daily reflections, Archbishop Malcolm McMahon added: “Our vocation as stewards of God’s world is the original vocation and has been with us since the point of our creation where we were made in His image and likeness.

“In this image and likeness, God invites us to be like him in caring, creating, nurturing, and ordering our world.”
