Chaplaincy

Pastoral care for all walks of life

Our chaplaincies provide pastoral care for hospitals, prisons, schools and universities.

The Liverpool (Central) Universities' Catholic Chaplaincy

St Philip Neri Church, 30 Catharine Street, L8 7NL, Liverpool

We serve the members of the University of Liverpool, John Moores University and the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. We host many weekday events in term time: Bible study, social events, visiting speakers and BBQs. An active Catholic Society is led by students and works in close cooperation with the chaplaincy, and takes the lead on organising some events.

Liverpool Hope University Chaplaincy

Chaplaincy, Hope Park, Liverpool Hope University, L16 9JD

We work as part of a larger chaplaincy team from different denominations and our Catholic chaplains are Fr Stephen Pritchard and Marie-Therese Lacey with Samuel Ferry as our chaplaincy assistant. Hope University is ‘fully Catholic, fully Anglican and fully ecumenical’. There is a Sunday evening Mass at 6pm and Thursday Mass at 12.15pm in Hope Chapel (term-time).

We are based in the Chaplaincy at Hope Park and also serve students on the other campuses. Fr Stephen is also a Parish Priest in a local parish. Liverpool Hope CathSoc are active in arranging social and spiritual activities for fellow students supported by chaplains.

Liverpool Seafarers Centre and chaplaincy

A partnership serves seafarers who are often at sea for long periods of time and are seperated from their families.
