St Columa's church, Port Erin, Isle of Man was the setting for the start of the traditional Good Friday morning Procession of the Cross.
In previous years walkers have had to brave icy rain driven in a a westerly gale, but Good Friday 2011 brought a glorious day with bright sunshine.
After leaving St Columba's church in Castletown Road the walkers carried their cross passing the Methodist church and then on to the promenade with the dramatic background of Bradda Head.
In true ecumenical fashion the Walk also took in the local St Catherine's Church of England church.
