Senior Accountant and Head of Parish Centres

Salary £58,000 per annum
Permanent, 35 hours per week
(Monday to Friday, 9.00am-5.00pm with one hour unpaid break)
The Archdiocesan Parish Centres Management Company Limited (APCMC) is a wholly-owned subsidiary company of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Liverpool. It is a licensed trading company that provides parish centres across the geographical area of the Liverpool Archdiocese. The Board of Directors are supported in the management of the Company by employees with expertise in financial and operational management, accounting and people management. The company consists of 60 parish centres ranging in size and refurbishment with approximately 375 staff employed including managers, assistant managers, bar assistants, cleaning assistants and glass collectors.
The APCMC Board of Directors are looking to appoint a new Senior Accountant and Head of Parish Centres as a result of the existing role becoming vacant to due to the retirement of the current post holder. This is a strategic role in which the successful candidate would be required to lead and direct the development, implementation, monitoring and review of the Board’s business strategy ensuring successful operation of APCMC, working collaboratively in all aspects of a commercial company within overall control of a charitable organisation.
The successful candidate is required to meet the essential criteria below;
 ACA or ACCA qualified with highly developed accountancy knowledge
 Minimum of 5 years post qualification in a commercial environment
 Evidence of working with Board and Senior Management level personnel
 Ability of delivering business strategy
 Management of operational and support staff
 Strong leadership skills
Possession of the following would be advantageous:
 Accredited management qualification
 Extensive operational business experience at a senior level in retail and multi site environment
 Developed knowledge of HMRC processes and operations
 Knowledge of pension legislation, staff benefits and maintaining Anti Corruption procedures
